Standard construction is 42mm mild steel tube on brackets welded to a stringer or wall fixed with concealed plates. External handrails are hot dip galvanised and powder coated. Internal handrails are usually powder coated in RAL 9005 or wrapped in a timber sleeve for a warmer finish.
For public access routes we fabricate handrails to Part M of the Irish building regulations, with continuous handrails at 900mm and 1000mm heights and rounded returns at both ends.
